What to do?

We took some time off in the wilderness of Saxony to get our minds together and the next year for the Zeppelin Orchestra planned. It took us a while ‘cause everyone had to write a litte bachelor thesis or started a new job, but last weekend the time had come to go on retreat in the far far eastern province of picturesque Saxony at a sweet and beautiful castle in Colditz. In Friedrichshafen, where the idea of the Zeppelin Orchestra was born and developed, we lived all very close and discussing, co-working and rehearsing was easy. But we have found us in a different situation now as most of us have finished their studies at the Zeppelin University and therefore left Friedrichshafen for good to work somewhere else in Germany.

12 months ago, around the same time of the year, the organisation of our tour through Eastern Europe had already started, although it was still not clear what we would do and where we would go. We had this vague idea, to experience what could happen, if we take our music to some other places, meet and play with and for different people. To leave the idea open and to experience the unpredictable was part of the idea of the Zeppelin Orchestra and our tour. After the tour our first priority was to make our experience tangible for others what especially was realised by the movie.

What the movie illustrates so well is that we all feel very closely linked to the project and its idea. Therefore it was a sincere concern not to leave it with the tour but to go on. For some it might be perfectly obvious what the next steps of the Zepor could be. But we did not have a clue. It should be more than just another tour - that much we knew.
So that was the starting point of our time in Colditz. Coming together to bring the project forward was a great pleasure. And luckily we were really successfull. I won‘t reveal to much for now but shortly outlined, we decided that moving and motivating people to make their own experience should be our core idea.

Stay with us to see how this idea shapes. For a great year 2011!
